Athens, GA – Oskar Blues Brewery, brewers of finely crafted canned beers like Dale’s Pale Ale, is set to host the official pre-party for The Infamous Stringdusters’ two-night stand at the iconic Georgia Theatre in Athens, GA this weekend. The event will support The Oskar Blues CAN’d Aid Foundation.
“We’re excited to host this event in partnership with The Infamous Stringdusters and hope to pack it out,” said Oskar Blues’ Leon Couey. “Raffle tickets will be sold for a chance to win prize packages from Oskar Blues and The Infamous Stringdusters.” Mr. Couey also eluded to efforts to encourage a special guest or two to drop by.
The event will take place Saturday January 11 from 6-8 PM EST at Green Room, an intimate live music venue located at 175 N Lumpkin Street, Athens, GA 30601, just a block from the Georgia Theatre.
The Infamous Stringdusters bring their blend of bluegrass and the jam scene to Georgia Theatre this Friday and Saturday, January 10-11. The New York Times has said that “The Infamous Stringdusters don’t leave bluegrass behind; they’re stretching it from within.” The official pre-party with Oskar Blues continues a trend of partnership between the band and brewery, who together have raised funds to support CAN’d Aid on the recent Road to Boulder tour and upcoming 2014 Ski Tour.
Supporting organizations that help prevent child abuse, provide meals for those in need, and improve trail access are just some of the efforts coordinated by Oscar Blues CAN’d Aid Foundation. In the third quarter of 2013 alone, the foundation raised more than $500,000 to support the flood relief and recovery effort in the jamgrass mecca, the Colorado Front Range.
